Fatou Geo Barry

Fatou Geo Barry currently serves as a Policy Officer with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Abuja, seconded at ECOWAS.

She holds a degree in Law and Information Technology, as well as a Master’s in International Business Law from the University of Leeds. Prior to her role with IOM, she worked with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as a National Project Officer, contributing to the PROMIS project to support victims of trafficking and vulnerable migrants. Earlier in her career, she spent four years with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as a Protection Associate, where she provided direct counseling and psychosocial support to refugees and other persons of concern in demanding, high-pressure environments.

Through these roles, she has developed strong crisis intervention skills and remains deeply committed to safeguarding the rights and dignity of displaced and marginalized populations.​
